12 Steps to Deliverance

JESUS MIRACLE POWER MINISTRY & OUTREACH

TWELVE STEPS TO DELIVERANCE

1. HONESTY
One must be honest with himself and with God if he expects to receive God’s blessings of deliverance. Lack of honesty keeps areas of ones life in darkness. Demon spirits thrive on such darkness. Honesty helps bring them into the light. Any sin not confessed or repented of gives the demons a legal right to remain. Ask God to help you see yourself as He sees you and to bring to light anything that is not Him.

“I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord, and Thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.” Psalm 32:5

“Search me, O God, and know my heart, try me, and know my thoughts; and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
Psalm 139:23-24

If you ever get to the place that you think you have arrived or that you’re okay; you’re in real trouble. Pride comes before the fall. Always be open to receive from your Pastor, mentor, deliverance minister, Prophet, etc. The devil is a deceiver. If you don’t receive from your ordained leadership, you are deceived. The only time you get offended is when something is brought to your attention is because you are deceived and in denial. So humble yourself and receive and move into change and freedom.

2. HUMILITY - TEACHABLE
This involves a recognition that one is dependent upon God and His provisions for deliverance.

“God resists the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourself therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:6-7

It also involves a complete openness with God’s servants ministering in the deliverance.

“Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.” James 5:16

3. REPENTANCE
Repentance is a determined turning away from sin and Satan. One must hate all evil in his life and fall out of agreement with it.

“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” Amos 3:3

One must loathe his sin.

“And there shall ye remember your ways, all your doings, wherein you have been defiled; ye shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all of the evil that you have committed.” Ezekiel 20:43

Deliverance is not to be used merely to gain relief from problems but in order to become more like Jesus through obedience to everything that God requires. Repentance requires open confession of all sins. Repentance takes away the legal rights of the demon spirits.

4. RENUNCIATION
Renunciation is forsaking of evil. Renunciation is an action resulting from repentance.

“When he (John the Baptist) saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, “O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance.” Matthew 3:7-8

Bringing forth fruits for repentance involves more than words. It is demonstration of repentance…evidence that one has truly turned from his sin. For example, if one repents of lust then he needs to destroy pornographic materials that he has in his possession. If he has repented of religious error than he needs to completely renounce it by destroying all literature and items that are associated with that error.

“And many that believe came confessing and showed their deeds. Many of them also used curious arts brought their books together, burning them before all men; they counted the price of them and they found it to be fifty thousand pieces of sliver.” Acts 19:18-19

Renunciation means a clean break with satan and all his works.

5. FORGIVENESS
God freely forgives everyone who confesses their sins and asks for forgiveness through His Son. He expects us to forgive everyone who ever wronged us in any way.

1 John 1:9 {“if we [freely] admit that we have sin and confess our sins, he is faithful and just (true to his own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleans us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to his ill and purpose, thought].”}

“For if you forgive men for there trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you: but if you do not forgive men of there trespasses then your heavenly father will not forgive you either.” Matthew 6:14-15

Willingness to forgive is absolutely essential to deliverance. No deliverance minister can affect deliverance unless candidate has met God’s conditions.

Matthew 18:21-35. {“Then Peter came up to him and said, Lord, how many times may my bother sin against me and I forgive him and let it go [As many as] up to seven times? Jesus answered him, I tell you, not up to seven times, but seventy times seventy times seven! [Gen. 4:24.] Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a human king who wishes to settle his account with his attendants. When he began his accounting, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousands talents [probably about ten million dollars], and because he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and everything he possessed, and payment to be made. So the attendants fell on his knees, begging him, have patience with me and I will pay you everything. His master’s heart was moved with compassion, and he released him and forgave him [canceling] the debt. But the same attendant, as he went out, found one of his fellow attendants who owed him a hundred denarii [about twenty dollars], and he caught him by the throat and said, pay what you owe! So his fellow attendant fell down and begged him earnestly, give me time, and I will pay you all! But he was unwilling, and he went out and had him put him in prison till he should pay the debt. When his fellow attendants saw what had happen, they were greatly distressed, and they went and told everything that had take place to their master. Then his master called him and said to him, you contemptible and wicked attendant! I forgave and cancelled all that [great] debt of yours because you begged me to. And should you not have had pity and mercy on your fellow attendant, as I had pity and mercy on you. And in his wrath his master turned him over to the torturers (the jailers), till he should pay all that he owed. So also my heavenly father will deal with all of you if you do not freely forgive your brother from your heart his offenses.}

6. PRAYER – PRACTICE HIS PRESENCE
God is limited by our prayer life- that He can do nothing for humanity unless someone asks Him. So we who are to pray should know more about it. The devil has dominion here. And God cannot do anything unless somebody down here asks Him. Ask God to deliver you and set you free in the name of Jesus. Prayer is as instinctive as breathing. Prayer is acknowledgment of a being higher than himself.

“Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be delivered.”
Joel 2:32

You must receive prayer on a weekly basis, at least, or you will not stay free or get free. You must use all of your tools on a daily basis to stay free. It is a rare privilege to pray; because it brings you into close fellowship with God, admitting your need for Him and your utter dependence upon Him.

Why we should pray: (a.) Because Jesus said, “Men always ought to pray.” Prayer is imperative. You are commanded to pray. (b.) Because prayer is the only way to get things from God. “You do not have because you do not ask.” (c.) Because there is joy in prayer. (d.) Because prayer will save you out of all your troubles. (e.) Because prayer can unlock the treasure chest of God’s wisdom. (f.) Because prayer is a channel of power. (g.) Because it is a sin not to pray. (h.) Because sinners can be saved when they pray in faith. (i.) Because Jesus, while here in the flesh, prayed often to the Father. Now if Jesus, the Son of God, needed to pray, then we should “pray without ceasing.”

Matt.26:41- “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

The Eight Types of Prayer!
Prayer Is A Spirit!
1. Private Prayer or Intimate Prayer- establishing a relationship with god and getting to know His heart.

Luke 5:16 so he himself often withdrew himself off into the
Wilderness and prayed

2. Intercession Prayer- praying for others, groups, lands, and nations

Romans 1:9- for God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel if his son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers

3. Corporate Prayer- a group of people who coming into agreement. A group praying in one accord.

Matthew 18:19- again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.

4. Warfare- praying directly against the devil and his demons; Pulling
Down strongholds whether in you, your family, friends, church, city, nation, or world.
2 Corinthians 10:4- for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.

5. Deliverance Prayer- casting out devils. Casting them out of yourself or others for deliverance.

Philippians 1:19- for I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the spirit of Jesus Christ

6. Praying the Prayer of faith- will raise the dead and heal the sick.

James 5:15-16, and the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

7. Praying the Word: Confession brings Possession.

Romans 10:10- for with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

8. Praying in the Spirit- (Tongues) - Praying in the divine will of God.

Mark 16:17- and these signs will follow those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.
1 Corinthians 14:22- Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbeliever; but prophesying is not for unbelievers but for those who believe.

7. WARFARE
Prayer and warfare are two separate and distinct activities. Prayer is toward God. Warfare is toward the enemy. Our warfare against demonic powers is not fleshly but is spiritual. Use the weapons of submission to God, the blood of Jesus Christ, the word of God, and your testimony as a believer. Identify the spirits; address them directly in the name of Jesus. Enter the battle with determination and assurance of victory. Christ cannot fail! He is the deliverer!!!

Ephesians 6:10-12
In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which his boundless might provides]. Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy –armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil. For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirit who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5
for though we walk (live) in the flesh; we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons. For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds, [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasoning and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the anointed One),}

James 4:7
So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.

Revelations 12:11
And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death [holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing].

Ephesians 6:17
And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.

Mark 16:17
“These signs shall follow them who believe in my name for they shall cast out devils…

Luke 10:19
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread upon serpents, scorpions and over the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Psalms 18:2
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress, as well as my deliverer.”

8. PRAISE AND WORSHIP
We give God praise when we worship him. We sing with gladness unto His name. We will render unto thee our will. We will come to a place unto the Lord.

Psalm 9:11
“Sing praises unto the Lord who dwells in Zion! Declare among the people His doings!”

Exodus 13:14
“For thou shall not worship any other god.”
Psalm 22:3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises

You praise God for three reasons
1) To please God
2) For others to be touched
3) For yourself

Unity of praise, worship and prayer brings in the anointing
No praise, worship and prayer! No Power!
Little praise, worship and power! Little Power!!
Much Praise, Worship and Prayer! MUCH POWER!!! (Brings deliverance and healing)

We are revival and Fire!
WE ARE MINISTERS OF FIRE!! We need to act like it. The church is waiting for God to touch them. God is waiting for you to touch HIM. God is from Missouri. He says “SHOW ME!!”
John 5:2-9 Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?” “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” 9 At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,
Mark 10:46-52 Blind Bartimaeus Receives His Sight Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.“What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
Joshua 6:2-5 Then the LORD said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.” You see nothing happened until the trumpets were blown and they shouted. As long as they were quite nothing happened! Shout for a break through! Shout to tear down the Walls in your life! Shout for victory!!
Psalm 148:12-13 young men and women,
old men and children. Let them praise the name of the LORD,
for his name alone is exalted;
his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.
2 Chronicles 20:19 Then some Levites from the Kohathites and Korahites stood up and praised the LORD, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice.
Psalm 47:6 Sing praises to God, sing praises;
sing praises to our King, sing praises.
Isaiah 12:6 Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion,
for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.”
1 Timothy 2:8 Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.
Psalm 63:4 I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands
Psalm 134:2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary
and praise the LORD.
Psalm 150:4 praise him with timbrel and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
Psalm 149:2-3 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;
let the people of Zion be glad in their King.
Let them praise his name with dancing
and make music to him with timbrel and harp.
Psalm 47 Clap your hands, all you nations;
shout to God with cries of joy.
Psalm 95:6 Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;

9. FOCUS
Make Jesus your central point of attraction.

1 Thessalonians 5:17
Be unceasing in prayer (praying fervently)

1 Chronicles 16:9
Sing to Him; meditate on and talk of all His wondrous works and devoutly praise them!

Hebrew 12:1-2
THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us, Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27
Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but [only] one receives the prize? So run [your race] that you may lay hold [of the prize] and make it yours. Now every athlete who goes into training conducts himself temperately and restricts himself in all things. They do it to win a wreath that will soon wither, but we [do it to receive a crown of eternal blessedness] that cannot wither. Therefore I do not run uncertainly (without definite aim). I do not box like one beating the air and striking without an adversary. But [like a boxer] I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] and subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming to others the Gospel and things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit [not stand the test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit].

2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good (worthy, honorable, and noble) fight, I have finished the race, I have kept (firmly held) the faith.

2 Peter 1:10
Because of this, brethren, be all the more solicitous and eager to make sure (to ratify, to strengthen, to make steadfast) your calling and election; for if you do this, you will never stumble or fall.

Psalm 145:5
On the glorious splendor of Your majesty and on Your wondrous works I will mediate.

10. COMMITMENT
“If you stay in your calling you won’t be fallen”
1 Corinthians 9:24
Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but one receives the prize? So run that you may lay hold and make it yours.

Philippians 3:14
I press on toward the goal to win the prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.

Psalm 119:113
I hate the thoughts of undecided, double-minded people, but Your law do I love.
Your pledge is to engage ones self in becoming more like Jesus daily! Remember your commitment to God. Jesus’ Holy Ghost Boot Camp requires a minimum one year commitment, to press in to the things of the Lord.
If you can’t fulfill your commitment to God; you can not succeed in any area of your life.

Ecclesiastes 5:4
When you vow or make a pledge to God, do not put off paying it; for God has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow.

Ecclesiastes 5:5
It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay.

11. THE WORD
Matthew 4:4 (Deut 8:3)
Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that come forth by
the mouth of God.

Mark 13:31
Heaven and earth will perish and pass away, but My words will not
Perish or pass away

II Timothy 2:15
Study to show thyself approved of God. A workman who has no cause
to be ashamed, correctly dividing the Word of Truth.

12. HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is God, and is equal to the Father and the Son. Don’t ever speak of Him as “It” or refer to Him as “an influence.” He is God the Holy Spirit, and is set forth in the bible as being distinct from the Father and the Son. In the Genesis account of creation, He is seen actively engaged in the work of creation, along with the Father and the Son. Do not talk about mock or sin against The Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:2
the earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters.

John14:26
But the comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.

John 20; 21-22
Then Jesus said to them again, peace to you! [Just] as the father has sent me forth, so I am sending you. And having said this, He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit!}

Matthew 12:31-32
Therefore I tell you every sin and blasphemy (every evil, abusive, injurious speaking or indignity against sacred things) can be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the [Holy] Spirit shall not and cannot be forgiven. And Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Spirit, The Holy One, will not be forgiven, either in this world and age or in the world and age to come.

Acts 5:32
And we are witnesses of these things, and the Holy Spirit is also, Whom God has bestowed on those who obey Him.}

The Spirit is a gracious personal presence who lives in one who has confessed that Jesus Christ is lord. Relationship to God through Christ by the Spirit is revolutionary. In Galatians Paul agreed that legalism and the way of faith are incompatible. God’s Spirit comes to us as a gift based on our faith in Christ and His grace (Gal.3:1-5). God’s Spirit comes into a believer’s life with assurance that we are God’s children.

Rom. 8:16
The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God.

The Spirit is God’s pledge to us that we will be fully transformed and conformed to the image of Christ. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom, a growing freedom from the law of sin and death. The Spirit distributes gifts in the church that are designed to equip God’s people for serving and building up the body of Christ. Evidence that the Spirit of God is at work in a person or group of persons is that person or group is showing love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The Christian community is anointed by the Spirit, and the Spirit assures the believers of the indwelling presence of Jesus. So it is essential to pray for and receive prayer; so that you can receive the Holy Spirit.

2 Corinthians 1:22
He has also appropriated and acknowledged us as His By] putting His seal upon us and giving us His [Holy] Spirit in our hearts as the security deposit and guarantee [of the fulfillment of His promise.

Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.}

Gal. 5:22-23
But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].
